Thank you very much for the reply Alan.
I suspect it is similar. I will send you a DM.
Cheers,
John

BX41 focus assembly
Does anyone know how take this focus mechanism apart or have service manual for this model? The BX40 and earlier models had prise-off caps with hex heads underneath but this model has me flummoxed.. There is a very small prise-off cap (shown removed) which allows difficult access to 3 internal screw...

For sale/giveaway: 2 x Leitz Ortholux stands - UK
A couple of grey Ortholux II stands available. They look like they have very high quality focus mechanisms. I can post a photo tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Re: Nikon Eclipse C-CU Universal Condenser and DIC literature
Rather a late reply but I was also looking for C-CU information and came across this post (and subsquently also found the links below).

Re: Part for Wild M3Z
Here is my attempted fix for the M3Z part just in case it is useful for someone. Not fully tested yet. m3zbolt.jpg From left to right: 1) M2 x 10 screw (the conical head slightly ground down on the thread side so that it sits as flush as possible to the microbearing. The flat head can also be ground...

Re: Part for Wild M3Z
I realise we're straying from the area of equipment exchange here but I've added images showing the problem in case it is useful for someone in future. axle_text.jpg This is the "axle" that needs replacing (along with the microbearing). bearing_diagram.jpg I think the reason this happens is a lack o...

Re: Part for Wild M3Z
Thanks Pete
I found it quite hard to measure the bore but I thought I'd just get one of these and see if it matches.

I'm hoping I can mount it on the end of a 10mm (M2?) bolt somehow. Flanged may have been a better option.

Re: Part for Wild M3Z
Brilliant, thanks Scarodactyl. That link is very useful. It turns out the (micro) bearings are quite widely available e.g. https://www.smbbearings.com/products/stainless-steel-miniature-bearings.html I think what is needed is a 5mm O.D./2.0mm bore/1.5mm width. (non-flanged). My guess is this one htt...

Part for Wild M3Z
Hi
I'm looking for a small internal part to fix a broken M3Z if someone has a non-working one for spares.
I need the small axle/wheel that rides along the guide. I'll post a photo if someone thinks they may have one.
Thanks,
John

Re: looking for a non functionnal Olympus SZH body
If this microscope has come from a biology lab, the damage could also be due to formaldehyde (or peroxide) vapour sterilisation of the lab. I'm not sure if the vapour attacks the coatings or the glass directly but I have never found a way to fix this. It is very common in tissue culture labs where r...

Hi Dave
Could you give a bit more info/link for the adapter?
Thanks,
John
