Re: Does anyone have the Laowa 100mm x2 macro lens?

I purchased the Laowa 100mm 2x macro lens from Adorama about 2 months ago, I do not have focus creep with my copy. I just now set my lens to ∞ and looked in the front lens or more correctly the UV filter. It looks pretty "dry" inside lens tube. Just a light film of lubricant. Is it possible that the...

Thanks much. So if the BR2-A gets you from the F mount to 52mm threads, do I still need the 55mm to 52 step down or can I just go from the BR2-A to the 52mm-RMS adapter to the objective? Not sure whey I need the 55-52 step down if I am already at 52 coming off the BR2-A. And it's the Br2A "reversin...

but what exactly do I use on the front end to attach an RMS (Nikon 40x) objective? Lots of different adapters for the front. Here is what I use, Nikon BR2-A (F mount to male 52mm threads) + 55mm to 52mm step down ring (MUST have 52mm female threads all the way thru) + M52-M20.3 adapter (Also ca be ...

The screw size is 1/4 20 (The standard used on photography gear). NO, the holes on a 200mm arca plate will not line up. This is what I used. https://www.amazon.com/DLR-2502B-Desmond-Double-Arca-Swiss-Compatible/dp/B00HJD6BCM The slots in the plate line up nicely. One thing you want to check is that ...

Enrico & Typestar,

Thanks for all the valuable info. I'm sure this will help me figure out where the lens came from. OR, maybe not worry about where it came from and enjoy what seems to be a very good lens. Thanks again for your help.

Question about the Scanner Nikkor 7 element ED lens

I just received a lens that the seller described as “Imaging Lens for Nikon Super Coolscan IV (LS-40 ED) scanner”. (The Scanner Nikkor 7 element ED lens). The lens arrived as pictured on eBay. When I removed the lens I noticed that it only had one deep groove. All the pictures that I’ve seen here & ...

Have you read this report on the 5400 II ? Almost at the end, under the heading "Picture Quality" they tested with a USAF test chart.

Depends on subject & what pose you intend to use. Try to position the pin where it won't show or where it will be easy to clone out. I have not tried to mount a millipede or isopod so can't be of any help there. The last isopod I stacked, I "posed" on a tan rock. Small butterflies or moths I always ...

My preferred method is gluing an insect mounting pin under the body of the insect. You can position the insect at any angle very easily. If the pin shows in your stack you can clone it out when editing your stack. Pointing is usually for small insects or insects with hard exoskeletons. Be aware that...
