Protist aquarium- how long should I run air pump

So I started a 3.5 gallon protist aquarium today, with aquarium heater, air pump (bubbler), LED light and pond water sample and some aquatic plants / pond soil. For those of you who have set up protist aquarium and determined the best condition for protists diversity, what settings do you use? Speci...

My friend Bruce is looking for a right-handed mechanical stage for an AO series 4 scope for a good price. Shipped to Texas USA please. Please let me know your offer price.

He can trade you an assortment of specimen seashells, if that helps.

Thank you!

Re: correct tube length for two finite metallurgical objectives

Thank you very much, Alan. Indeed, I saw it was mentioned as “long mount” in Olympus catalog (the other long mount version was a LWD Mplan 20 0.40), it was just that tube length was not mentioned by Olympus in that catalog that I read.

Fast curing super glue with minimal fumes

Hello, fellow macro photographers and microscopists. I am looking for a fast curing super glue that produces minimal fumes. Regular super glue fumes and often leave some white marks on optics. In my application, I cannot wipe off the white fume marks once glue is cured. So I require very low fuming ...

correct tube length for two finite metallurgical objectives

Hello, fellow macro photographer and microscopists, I have a Nikon M20 0.40 and an Olympus MPlan 40 LWD 0.55 and would like to know their appropriate tube length (should they be using 210 mm tube length)? Other possibilities are 190mm or 240mm; I am guessing they do not infinity tube length. My Niko...

Re: Wild M400 or M420: which 3rd party 10x eyepiece

Thank you, Milou. But I only saw Chinese EPs with FN22 or FN23. I would like FN25 or even FN26.5 AND parfocality.

Do you think all focusable 10x EPs will achieve good parfocality on Wild M400 / M400?

Wild M400 or M420: which 3rd party 10x eyepiece

What is a good 3rd party 10x eyepiece for Wild M400 or M420, please? I prefer good parfocality (doesn’t have to be perfect) on M400/M420 and field number of close to 25mm. Would most focusable finite eyepieces work? Thank you.

Re: 3rd party 0.5x six lens for Wild M450 Epizoom

Let me answer my own question, after some careful testing: a Chinese no-name “0.5x WD165” aux lens works really well. Very minimal green CA in de-focused areas, none in in-focused areas. Field flatness is very good. I tested on flat printed ink dots. I am quite surprised by the no-name 0.5x aux lens...

3rd party 0.5x six lens for Wild M450 Epizoom

What is a good 3rd party 0.5x aux lens for Wild M450 Epizoom, please? I will likely take delivery of a Wild M450 Epizoom tomorrow and wonder how I should adapt it for lower magnification. With 10x eyepieces, Wild M450 Epizoom goes from about 16x to 80x in total magnification (1.6x -8x from objective...

WTB Nikon 2 plan short iris objective and RMS iris

WTB Nikon 2 plan iris short objective and RMS iris Dear all: the 2 plan objective should have working iris and came originally with Nikon black metal microscope (such as Model S). Very nice. I am interested. Anyone in US want to do a group print or group buy? I don’t have access or skill to print though.
