Interesting pics. Salticidae from the genus Portia appear to be quite good at hunting web-buillding spiders.

Thanks Lou, I think you are right. There is a species named C. sericeiventris which appear to be wide spread in Central America, so most likely that is what it is.

I was actually looking at a spot on Solarte, but the dates I searched came out as booked already. Decided then to go for a place in Playa Bluff outside the main town, which is supposed to be a bit more secluded.

Stunning as always! Amazing color variation. I am heading to Panama next week, and Bocas is one of the stops. Hoping to see (and photograph) some dart frogs then.

Wonderful light diffusion on the subjects. After having seen your photos here weevils have started to become big favorites for me, such interesting shapes and some have really nice colors too (which is apparent in this post).
