Re: Grasshopper

Sort of reminds me of something from the movie "Starship Troopers." Great perspective and lighting.

Re: Every creature deserves a place in the sun!

Good image and I agree about that place in the sun. This creature that is writing this, belongs on the beach in Palma, Spain. \:D/

Re: Little orange mushroom with primefilm scanner lens

Not really familiar with a scanner lens but it seems to do a pretty good job, especially on the fungi you have posted here. They say necessity is the mother of invention and what better place to find it than here. Nice work there Stephen :)

Wonderful photographs. Who would have thought that you would find so much in a few grains of sand! :)

Can't recall of ever having seen an ocellus taken or imaged, that close up. Interesting images, nice details on that head. :)

Re: Autumn mantid

I haven't seen one of these creatures in quite some time. Insects have become scarce around my locale, I rarely see a housefly any more. Very nice photograph :)

Thinking back to the days of 35mm film, those shutter speeds and ASA now ISO seem so unreal but today not so unusual. Wonderful photograph!

Cut-leaf Grape fern w/Stilt bug

Bonus bugs I call them. Bugs that are there but you don't see them until after the download of the image. The sporangia of the Grape fern was the primary subject. It wasn't till afterwards that I noticed that I had a Stilt bug doing a photo bomb of the show. Canon Powershot G9X Mk II 10.2 mm f/4 @ 1...

Re: non bug picture

Getting some detail out of a bright image like that can sometimes take some doing. On my part, a lot of luck. Nice work, looks good. Subjects like this are also good for the dissecting microscope.
