Mite, pushing the limit of hand held..

Mite shot hand held with a flash in remote mode (also hand held) seems to be pushing the limit of what I can do walking around in the yard. This is cropped way down but essentially straight out of the camera otherwise. Click image for a larger version http://www.pbase.com/arlon/image/146371105/mediu...

I've shot dozens of them but have never gotten anything to stay still for even a second shot. Way to go.

In a shaded area but at f22 and with a flash diffuser, the flash doesn't carry very far.

I am not able to understand how the lens is mounted for such images. Is it possible to use this idea in a DRLS? Can anyone show a sketch or a photo? thank you very much  I like to use a 20mm f3.5 Nikkor set on an K1 extension ring. It's not quite as drastic as the OP pics but I still like the...

It's been awhile but I finally sprung for the metal gear and have now gone through the stand and have it working perfectly. Now I need to start figuring out how I want to set up something to hold the camera. Not sure where to go next, any pictures of other setups for inspiration/ideas would be appre...

Great pics. Robber fly or tiger beetle have to be the ultimate 6 legged predators. Not sure which one truly deserves the crown.
