Good question about the pupils Rik, I'll do a comparison when I get a chance! I specified because I have a couple of elephant seals coming and going from my front yard this time of year. This guy has been a real pain, pretty aggressive compared to the mellow adult bull!

Rik, you're not the first person to ask that It's the eye of a sub-adult elephant seal, and I believe the pupil is practically non-existent (just a little pucker of iris). The far left is a Canadian flag, right below that is me in my red wind-breaker and navy pants.
