Thanks Mark, the habits of live ambush type critters is certainly a better fit with stacking than most.

These are cool little bugs, with interesting textures. They also tend to sit very still for long periods, and so are good subjects. You can even focus stack a live one, as you show nicely here.

This is not as good as physically cleaning the sensor, but there are software options for automating the removal of dust spots from images. I have only used it with canon dpp4, but found that there is a similar capability using the Nikon Capture image processing software (Image Dust Off). https://ww...
