Thanks for notifying me of this thread, Chris! Here's an image I created about 3 years ago. I took two images from the same perspective - one with my photomicrography rig (see here: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19325 ) and one with an SEM. While I pushed the limits on magnif...

SEM Issue
I had the incredible opportunity of using a scanning electron microscope today, although I encountered a significant issue and am hoping some of you here can offer some insight. The butterfly scales I imaged were visibly waving back and forth/flexing on the SEM's monitor even though they were in a v...

Thanks for the kind words everyone. BugEZ, I've had trouble with the software erroneously aligning images, though my rig does sometimes shift the frame ever so slightly between shots during a stack so I imagine turning off XY alignment may be more harmful than helpful. Rylee, Having the integrated t...

BHMJ Rod Diameter
I'm looking for the exact diameter of the rods used for BHMJ focus blocks.
If anyone has a link to where I can buy one of the rods, that would also be great. Thanks in advance.

Testing a Nikon CF Plan 50X 0.55 EPI ELWD (Butterfly Scales)
I tested the Nikon CF Plan 50X 0.55 EPI ELWD mounted on a 200mm f/4 Sakar lens on my Canon 60D. 74 photo stack at 0.00033mm (1/3 micron) increments. http://i.imgur.com/cqdypRk.jpg 100% crop: http://i.imgur.com/TBhC8LS.jpg My initial impression is extremely positive. The CA isn't nearly as bad as wit...

Pau, Even after attaching the turret to the bellows, I'm still trying to streamline the rig even further. For example, I'm thinking of mounting the LED from an IKEA lamp to the center of the turret/nosepiece which doesn't rotate (see image below). http://i.imgur.com/En6vr98.jpg Regarding the cantile...
