Re: Caution: shipping to the USA, anti-dumping targeted at goods from China

I don't understand what the origin of the goods (where they were manufactured) has to do with anything, especially if it is second-hand items. :-k I've sent items from Spain to Australia, USA, Indonesia, China, New Zealand, etc, etc. countries. I've never been asked about the origin of the goods. Ty...

Re: New olympus 90mm 2x macro

Could you share your experience on how 90mm Oly perform as a tube lens? Does Mitutoyo 10x on it cover MFT corner to corner, no vigneting, on resulting 4.5x mag? Is image flawless? Sorry, I can't. I haven't tested the Oly. The tube lens used in that test is the Mejiro OTHO75 5.6/90. Image is not fla...

Re: some scales

Yes, it's hard to get perfect detail of those scales even with a high-NA otics as in this case, but good work nevertheless, very nice pics.

Re: Scales thread

Sweet, thank you for the reply and for sharing your experience with the BD & MPlanFL, all of that experience is helpful in contextualizing things. Super cool that it does well pushed down to 25x. I had been considering adding that one to the list of potential "save up for, find a deal" objectives b...

Re: Scales thread

Really lovely photos! I dropped by also to thank you (and seta666) because I saw both of your posts over the years on this forum while searching for cheaper options, and you shared great experience with dealing with short-WD objectives. This gave me the confidence to try out the BD 40x 0.65 NA 3mm ...

Well, at least it'll make the whole system more compact, right? :) so that's good anyway and the results are beautiful!
Not really, setup is the same, the only thing that changes is the bellows extension, a tad longer with the refocusing method.

But yeah, result is more than good either way.

Re: Scales thread

Hmmm So when comparing this one to your last photo - I have to say they're extremely similar :-k Maybe there's a tiny bit more uh.. micro-detail in some areas but.. honestly if you told be both were made with the same objective I would have believed you. Very impressive either way! =D> Thank you! N...

Re: Scales thread

This is very interesting because it looks like it's the same wing/scale as the first image, in a similar composition and not that much difference in magnification. The first image was taken without the coverslip and this one is taken with the coverslip, correct? Same butterfly, same area of the win...

Re: Scales thread

Thank you, Adi, sure, long WD is always an advantage, regardless of subject's flatness. High-NA, short-WD objectives are fun to play with, but kinda pain in the rear to use... This is with TU Plan 100/0.80 ELWD + 105mm tube lens at 52.5X on sensor. Stack was shot with continuous lighting and traffic...

Re: Scales thread

Hello Macrero, I'm already looking forward to it. BTW, I have had the best results with this lens, when I put the cover glass on the subject. (With DCR150, EF70-200L and EF100L Macro) Best, ADi Hi Adi, I did a couple of stacks with the NPA20 + coverslips at about 20X, but haven't retouched/edited '...

Re: Scales thread

Adi, I haven't performed direct comparison and this is my first stack with coverslip. Coverslips improves coverage with short tube lenses, but I still can't push the NPA20 as low as my other 20X objectives. Resolution is great, though with "refocusing" (without coverslip) it's no slouch either. This...
