FOV
Hi, y'all. (I'm assuming that is how it is spelled...). This chart illistrates how much of my microscope's FOV would be compared to some cameras out on the market. This is for comparison only, as this depends on my eyepiece and relay lens. You should get similar results. If you are interested, I can...

Unknown for ID
Definitely a ciliate. Slow, plodding, rolling motion. Eats Trachelomonas (round ones).

Green Thing
Unknown for ID. Probably a ciliate, but no cilia seen. Likewise, no clear eyespot.

Video Editing
I've finally gotten around to adjusting my video editor. Here are 4 15-second clips of various things I taped earlier today. The first segment is untouched, and the second (which is the same segment as the first) has my effects applied. Basically, I reduced brightness just a smidgen, increased contr...

Hi Jacek:
Could you give us some idea of what type of optics you are using? I think it is obvious that none of these are single lens achros!

Hey Bill: See if you can get Ferry to look at this. He is the 'go to' guy for amoebas and the like... Is your video playing back at normal speed? Your critter seems awfully fast for an amoeba. Interesting is the word alright. When I see something like this, I always have to wonder if this is the fir...

Diatom infestation?
Found this diatom. I meant to say 'infestation' not 'infection' First one is the condensed version. https://youtu.be/tHgUW3C9dJ0 Second is the full-length feature. https://youtu.be/kqbUDNeeDhA Third is another example... maybe. https://youtu.be/JJilgcSZMsE All taken through 43X .95 APO in obl...

Something being eaten alive.
While studying an unusual diatom (I'm posting it later... it is the one to the left), this showed up out of nowhere. I'm guessing it is an amoeba of some type. Anyway, some of it gets eaten by a small flagellate. Any ID on either critter would be welcome. 43X .95 APO, Oblique https://youtu.be/9jdMg7...

Diatom brownian motion (Oblique)
One more time!
Unless I find an unusual specimen, this will conclude my study of diatom Brownian motion. Thank you for your patience.

Various unknown things
These are pics of various things I find quite often, and can't ID. These were taken using a 20X .65 (unless otherwise noted). Any thoughts would be helpful! #1. I suspect that this is some part of a dead plant. It does seem to have 'organelles', but I've never seen any movement. Can't find an exampl...

Newfound Critters
Found a new flagellate. Watch the video! This thing can 'snap' quickly. https://youtu.be/ScVbUhGbsco A still of the subject in question. Anyone know? 20X .65 APO http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1823_IMG_1490_1.jpg I suspect this is some version of Trachelomonas. A big boy. 20X .65 APO ...

Green flagellate
These showed up a few days ago. Hard to pin down, constant movement. I managed a couple of stills and a video. https://youtu.be/y_sqnTFR1eg 20X .65 APO http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1823_IMG_0828_Edit_1.jpg 43X .95 APO http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1823_IMG_0780_Edit_...
