Here is a pseudoscorpion from Warnham Local Nature Reserve leaf litter leaf litter sampled 14-Mar-2019, here in Horsham UK. At low magnification with a x16 objective the Leitz DIC gives a slightly graded background. When you run the stacks through MS ICE it tries to even out the background giving an overall gradient but with some variations, so the background required retouching, thus giving the effect you see.
