The other Mipros, 63 mm and 80 mm, are outstanding photo eyepieces for APS-C when used with a suitable relay optic.
What would be a suitable piece of relay optics for the 80 mm Mipro that is to be used with an APS-C sensor (Canon 50D)?

Stauroneis phoenicenteron (Nomarski)

A stack of 6 images with a total depth of 6 µm. 40/0,95 objective. The long axis of the diatom was positioned perpendicular to the shearing axis of the DIC setup.

The diatom is from an 8 form test slide by Klaus Kemp.

Thanks Pau, trying the manual setting and variations thereof made the situation better (I had the flash with standard settings ETTL and first curtain sync). And this is an excellent compilation of links you provided, extremely useful!

Using flash produces blurred images throught microscope

I connected a lamp and flash at the base light port of the microscope using a beam splitter. Using the lamp is fine but whenever I use the flash the images get blurred in one direction (that would be the direction of shutter movement). The camera is Canon 50D and the flash model is 430EX II. Any ide...

Its a 63x/1.4 lens and the bug was firmly squished against the coverslip (you can see the membrane blebbing in the top side). I can't recall if I saw equatorial cirri but it does look like Halteria to a large extent. Thanks for pointing it out!

Ciliate ID

I stumbled upon a new pond that is absolutely swarming with critters. This poor guy was poisoned with copper to get it to hold still for a photo session. Anyone has any idea what it is?

Thanks for the nice comment dragonblade. The internal camera of the Zeiss Photomicroscope was designed for the 35 mm format which is what I used for this shot and the one I've attached in this post. The object here is a melt preparation of elemental sulfur mixed with testosterone propionate. The dar...

First Macro Attempt - Thin Layer Interference

I present to you my first ever attempt at macrophotography. The images here are produced by thin layer interference of a shower gel in solution using a reverse lens macro with an extension tube. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1420_IMG_2192_1.jpg http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/u...
