Seeing the photos about the attached objectives/Raynox/adapters I found a question. When we firstly used the iris diaphragm made by jinfinance, the length between the morfanon and the Mitutoyos was a question. As far as I remember it was important to be as close as it can be. So, what about the Rayn...

Brodie, till then I bought 2 of them for my friends, and both cases managed to remove the inner barrel only with pure ethyl acetate (99%). Did not try other tinctures. However, I wasn't able to measure such small amount of the liquid (did not use the syringe), I put a bit more I think. Not only to t...

Once I made a reverse adapter with cable, inspired by that expensive Novoflex thing. I disassembled 2 12mm Kenko extension rings, modified the electrical contacts, and the springs. It worked very well and comfotrtable and I made test shots with the kit lens. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/use...

Re: Oops, I got me a Gerogon whopper! Questions of adapting
But how should I mount the BD Mitu to the front? Is there an adapter available for the BD Mitus as well? Or is Charlie's way from back then ( http://www.krebsmicro.com/forumpix/CBK6845.jpg ) via the Exakta extension/microscope adapter rings (of which I have a couple in me box o' bits) still advisab...

Exceptional work Nikola, in the cleaning/lighting, all though. Which tube lens did you use for these? I see you've tried several but haven't kept track of your changes! Thank you Chris. I used the SurplusShed 172mm tube lens (also known as morfanon) with the Mitutoyo. Here you can find the setup us...

Thank you guys! Rik, the stereo would be better using DMap, but then I only used PMax, which isn't such good at this low magnification. Since then I tried the other method and absolutely enjoy it. Perhaps I will do it with the source files in DMap. Patrik, welcome aboard! Hope to see work from you s...

Playing with a lesser stag beetle
A couple of months ago I took a promise to Craig Gerard on posting a new topic about my work below. These studio focus stacks were made at the end of last winter, when I was extremely hungry of field work. My Mitutoyo was new, so decided to take a set of stacks about several particulars of the body....
