Thanks Enrico for your reply.
I think I will stick with what I have. The settings are complicated enough.

Hi Enrico

Apart from the ability to save and re-install camera settings is your spreadsheet applicable to the original EM-1 with the firmware up to date.
Currently I use the spreadsheet from biofos.com

Kind regards

Thanks Pau. In the absence of any other suggestions I will probably go for the Jansjo.

Lighting

I should like to get suggestions for providing lighting for focussing purposes only on a horizontal rig for magnifications up +/5. I imagine a similar question has been asked in the past, but I cannot find the answer on the site.

Chris Thanks for the observation. The D300 had been set to shoot in RGB and I had not realised that and it could make a difference. Rik 1. The lighting was the same in principle for both series, same flash, same settings, same diffusion, but there may have been a slight difference in the positioning...

Thanks Andrew

You are most probably correct, but I was using a friend's camera that I only have for short time and wanted to make absolutely sure of eliminating vibration, particularly as one has to operate the shutter release button twice for each exposure, belt and braces.

Match test 2

This is a continuation of the earlier post 'Bark Stink Bug and questions' but I thought it preferable to start a new post. The main reason is that I am trying a different camera, a Nikon D300S compared with the original D80 The D300 has the same size sensor but is CMOS with a 3.3MP/sq.cm compared wi...

Thanks Chris for that informative input. I have a B.P.M. bellows with a 15cm max extension so have reached the limit of my bellows with 3x. I have tried a 50mm Minolta reversed onto a 100mm macro, but it did not give such good results and vignetting was a problem. I do have an 80mm El Nikkor but it ...

Chris S. Chris R. Andrew I have completed my tests and find that with the 63mm f/2.8 El Nikkor reversed the best results are at 5.6, flash at 1/2 power, shutter at 2secs rear curtain. 14 images at 90 microns stacked with PMax and with some sharpening. I think it is improvement. What do you think? Re...

Thanks for the additional observations. The max magnification that I can get with my bellows is 3x measured, not calculated. The magnification of my original shot was definitely +/- 2x probably the match head was slightly different. Mine were made in South Africa, perhaps you had the smaller economy...

So we are making progress 1. The area taken in each case was arbitrary so they are not exactly the same. I think I should have selected 'view actual pixels' in each case which would presumably give the same enlargement. I am not happy with the sharpness if it can be improved using the same lens and ...

You are quite correct I was not sure what was required as a pixel crop. The first is a crop of one image in the series The second is a crop of the PMax stacked version No sharpening Arthur http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1049_Match_test_201_edited1_1.jpg http://www.photomacrography.net...
