Chicken fight: When one person sits upon the shoulders of another and faces their 'opponent', another pair arranged similarly. The goal is to knock the other 'team' down. This is most popular in swimming pools and parties where alcohol is served.

A few from last year
I was caught being a lurker by Rik in another post, so I thought I would post a few images from late last season. It was difficult to choose just 3, so please visit my gallery for further viewing as I won't post any more of last season. It seems it is so tough for me to get an interesting shot of a ...

Rik, I was guilty the end of last year of not processing my pics until winter time. At that point, didn't feel the pics were fresh enough to post. Also spent quite a bit of time redoing my gallery; archiving away 80% of it or so to make it more viewable. As mentioned in my earlier post, I am tending...

Jens, What 'DOF problem' exists? I myself started out taking all my shots at f16 or f11 years ago, but then as the years went by, I found myself preferring the look of a wider aperture to show selective focus where I want it and soft features surrounding. Not everything has to be in focus in my opin...

Rik, Don't think that getting another cm or so on the bottom wasn't my plan on the original composition, but it just moved slightly. Now that you mention it, it bugs me now too (yeah, thanks...). I don't know if the solution is cropping slightly, as you still wouldn't see space at the bottom, or bet...

Walter,
LordV, a member here, uses a lot of animated gifs over on the FredMiranda site. He created a tutorial:

on this. I agree that these images would look fantastic animated....a stop-motion look.

The Beauty, the Bold, and the Poser
I am pleased with the soft pastel look to this midge. No color adjustments made. http://perceptions.smugmug.com/photos/331779209_LRhLY-L.jpg This I shot last year and am just finishing processing him. Can't remember for sure if I showed him before or not. He is a Tangle-veined fly. http://perception...

Half Dragon, Half Crayfish
Dragonfly getting eaten alive by hundreds of what I assume are mites. Reminds me of crawdads with the underside of their tail filled with eggs.

My evolution in photography
I was performing a little self-introspection on how my photography has progressed the past 4 years. For me, it was impossible to learn and pay attention to everything at once. I am wondering if others follow a similar path? This seems to be the evolution of proficiency/artistry I have taken in this ...
