Fruit Fly

Post by RogelioMoreno »

Here is a stacked image of 231 frames @ 2 microns, Zerene Stacker.
Nikon Labophot, Nikon 20/0.40 DL (CC set to 0), FO illuminator and ping pong ball diffuser. Direct projection on the Canon 450D.

This version is not retouched with ZS, I have to post a version retouched with ZS.

Sorry for the 1024 size; but I wanted to show more of the eyes details.

Rogelio,

Excellent shot. Really preserved the fine "hairs" in the eyes.

This is lovely!

Do you know what species of fruit fly this is?

I do not recall noticing V-shaped texturing on top of the head of my flies, but then again I can't recall looking at this angle and magnification either.

1024 pixels is perfect -- we changed the guidelines last year so that the maximum size is now 1024.

Splendid!
Graham

Though we lean upon the same balustrade, the colours of the mountain are different.

Thanks all.

Rik,
I was looking for the ID of this fly; but I could not find the correct.
