...or wood scorpion. Found this one under a rock in our back paddock. it's body is about 2 cm long. It's the only scorpion species that has been so far identified in Tasmania.

The tail is the first thing I notice when I look at a scorpion and this one is no exception. It even looks painful. I agree with Sue, it does look armor plated. A good shot Steve. :D

No way I was going to find out! According to the literature, stings are painful but don't cause any real problems. I'm STILL not going to find out! :smt101

Very cool find Steve...do not see to many of these in the forums :shock: I bet Ken & Tom can find them where they live....None here in the North East USA

You know Doug, I've looked for scorpions around here, mostly under the bark of old dead trees but I yet have had the chance to find one. However, I am not disappointed. Found one in my bathroom once, when I lived in the Philippines. :roll:
