Thanks Rik - I'll keep in mind your pointers as I move along. I have ZS so I will try Pmax and Dmax stacks and see what transpires.

As I understand it the testa is the large structure or seed coat and the smaller object it encapsulates is the embryonic seed .

Those scopes are made by C.Reidhert in Vienna. They are very high quality.
They have separated coarse and fine focus knobs and mechanisms. Straight monocular tubes but if you want to do everything live view with a copy stand arrangement they could be used. They will tilt all the way back to horizontal usually. Nice heavy old fashioned quality stand. May or may not have adjustable tube length depending on vintage.
