Took a sample of detritus from a local roadside ditch. Found dozens of small Mayfly larvae and a single Desmid: Closterium sp.
Note the terminal vacuoles at the cell tips, containg crystals of a sulphate that vibrate (crystal changed shape between adjacent frames).
