Knob sticker

Post by ChrisR »

I needed a scale for a Vickers microscope knob. It occurred to me that some folk may not have any appropriate program, or enough familiarity, to produce one.
This was a first go, in Photoshop. Not perfect but OK for what I wanted.
If anyone has a need for anything similar, post it here!

Don't know as I need exactly this, but I've sometimes needed similar things.

So I'm interested in tools and techniques.

What procedure did you use to generate this in Photoshop?

Well it's based around Edit>Transform>Rotate, where you can specify say 3.6º.
Then Edit>TransformAgain, repeated, holding Alt so it copies.
I think I started with a line (line tool, 3 pixels) as a Shape Layer. You could use a path or a selection or...

You can draw a circle based on a centre by dragging an oval lasso with Alt and Shift held down (on a pc)

All something like playing chopsticks on one of these
