The bud that missed the boat!

Post by Cyclops »

Heres another shot of my Christmas Cactus bud-still not open,it missed the boat!

This was a nightmare to photograph!
When these plants are budding like this you dont want to move the plant as this tends to make them abort so I had to take Mohammed to the mountain as it were and shoot in situ. Considering this plant lives in our tiny bathrooom(what you guys call the John?) it was a bit fiddly! I couldnt get a black background, hold the light AND trip the shutter so the background had to give!

Yes, they will flower OK in a range of conditions, but as you say don't like their conditions (light and temperature) changing when in bud or they tend to abort the buds.

I must get my cactus (rabbit's ears) out of the roasting (not my choice) sitting room. It gets to a whopping 27 degrees and my partner is still cold!!!!!!! and thats in winter.
The colours are nice in this little one. :D
