Fuzzy Little Critter(s)

Post by Ken Ramos »

While prowling through my moss and lichen samples, I happened across one of the larger species of the Springtail family. I alo noted some that were much smaller but they would not stay still long enough for a photograph. It was sort of comical to watch them jump. For a second they are there and then they just seem to vanish.

I also ran across this tiny caterpillar :?: or some kind of worm, crawling about the samples.

Very good shot of the little critters Ken. I love the little collar of hairs on the springtails neck.

Thanks Doug, this species of Springtail is rather large and I think there maybe one that is a little bit bigger but not by much. Most of them are quite small and very prone to jump at a moments notice. :D
