Ladybird, Beetle love and a dragonfly

Post by P_T »

Finally had a chance for a daylight shooting.

This dragonfly kindly landed on the fence and posed for me for a minute. 2x magnification.

Caught this two behind a leaf in the heat of their passion. :D

Some sort of ladybird.

Great high-magnification photos.
That damselfly looks interesting, no idea which genus it is though, but it must be from Coenagrionidae family.

Nice shots!

A tad more diffusion for the shiny beetles maybe? I'm being picky though, they are good. The Damsel is my favourite of the three..

Great images! The "ladybird", however, is a leaf beetle (Chrysomelidae), same family as #2, BTW, but different subfamilies.

Cheers

Thanks guys!!

I'm still trying to diffuse my twinflash more to take photos of reflective bugs like those mirror-like copulating beetles.

Here's a shot of a different damselfly found in the same area. Full size here,

I love the beetle images. I suspect that the ladybird is a callow individual, with its colours still undeveloped.
