Small lacewing?

Post by lauriek »

Or it may be a small caddis fly, not sure either way! I like the eyeball whichever it is! Any ideas?

Image

E330, MF1, OM Auto bellows, Nikon 10x CF objective, twin macro flash, lots of diffusion. Bellows at around 2/3 extension.

Stack of 33 images. Aligned in CZP and stacked in Tufuse pro.

The wide pronotum (dorsal plate of first thoracic segment) is consistent with it being a lacewing , possibly one of the brown lacewings but I don't know enough to eliminate other Neuroptera.
