Amazing pictures and well spotted.

First thing I do when I see pics like this is to check where the person lives (it should be mandatory to say where you live on a site like this).

I must go look them up and see if they are on this side of the world -UK/Ireland.

Jim,

I gather this is one of the Nematocampa moths?

Bugguide.net has a lot of pictures under Nematocampa resistaria, but all the caterpillars are colored differently from your specimen except for this one.

What have you tracked down about ID on this beast?
