High speed bee

Post by Graham Stabler »

A single frame from a high speed video I created, 4000fps, 20us exposure, 800X600 resolution, 1:1 macro. Phantom V7 camera, Sigma macro lens. Red LED lighting.

Cool! Looks like a frame taken from a ficticious Hitchcock movie.

Cheers

Interesting stuff!

The last one looks a bit dark on my screen, in fact the first on isn't that bright but considering 20us exposure time the chip in that camera must be extremely sensitive!!

Is there any chance of seeing some small movies up here?

The second one is a bit dark but it's mainly the lack of back lighting making things looking even worse, I can also improve things by using just the low bits but that's cheating. I'm working on improved lighting now, this was almost dark field.

The pixels on the array are 20um and sensitive, I also use red light because not only are the insects insensitive to it but the camera is sensitive to it.

I'll see if I can sort out a video, this represents some of my most current research so I have to check with my boss first.
