First Critters

Post by PeglegOS »

:smt026 I found my first critters in a drop of aquarioum water. As a matter of fact there was quite a few of them. I did manage to get some poor quality pics of them. My camera adapter hasn't arrived yet, so I did it handheld above the ep. So I guess it's my first capture... :smt117

I won't bore you with the pic and I really don't know what they are, but I'm thrilled nevertheless. :smt038

I was tempted to say in reply to what is it - "The two toed wheel headed rotifer!" but I know nothing about them so I looked them up on the Web and these sites may help:-

http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/ind ... rotih.html

http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/phyla/roti ... ifera.html

http://www.micrographia.com/specbiol/ro ... el0100.htm

Just put "rotifers" into your search engine there are loads of links to identification sites.
