Nice photo as far as aesthetics are concerned , but for IDing purposes I´d rather like to see some other details more clearly.
But I think it´s save to say that the order is Neuroptera and not Trichoptera.:D

Gee you really know how rain on a parade, huh Betty? So...well, I took your suggestion and Googled all over the place and came up with; "Neuroptera: Hemerobiidae," or in other words besides latin, (is all that latin :?: :smt017 ), a "Brown Lacewing." I didn't know there were brown ones. :-k

Thanks Betty :D

Yep that's the critter. I had not thought of Bugguide but Bettys suggestion paid off. I have a small creek that runs in behind the house, about a 100yds away maybe, so that is where the Caddisfly assumption came from. Actually I have never investigated the creek that much for the presence of aquatics, maybe I should one day.

Thanks Rik :D
