Backyard Series #36

Post by Michigan Michael »

A section from a 1960's range-finder camera.
I've heard that this model was the world's best selling 35 mm camera for nearly 3 decades. Can any of you folks guess which one?

Correct, Charles!
Produced "locally" in Ann Arbor, Michigan from about 1939-1966. As many of you know it was called the "Brick" because of its shape and weight.

I have very fond memories of the Argus C3.

It was the first device that I shot macro with.

That was using strong magnifying lenses, with focus by dead reckoning. Getting an SLR was a huge improvement, I can assure you!
