ID request on creek water samples

Here's some footage I shot from a sample of creek water in South Australia, Australia. In the first two clips, I'm assuming the larger specimen is a diatom? Though I'm not sure if the small subjects are diatoms or something else.

Most of what I see in your samples are diatoms, which is not surprising if you obtain your sample from am creek. You will find much more diversity if you sample from a still-water pond and also get some mud from the bottomin your sample.

Thankyou for confirming that the majority of the specimens are diatoms. Some of the shapes are a little different to images of diatoms I see elsewhere.

I pretty much always collect mud in my water samples. Occasionally I do come across other things in the creek water like various kinds of ciliates. I wish there was a pond around here - that would be great. I was surprised that I didn't find anything in a sample of dam water some time ago. Unfortunately, the rest of the dam water in the jar evaporated before I took another sample.
