Saul,

The Labophot repair manual has one sketch of this part, but it doesn't seem very helpful:

I don't see any depiction of the lamphouse in the manual. I may have a Labophot carcass around that might contain this part--let me know if you want me to look for it. I don't have a lamphouse.

Hmm, it looks exactly like mine . I thought that there are some broken pieces (in red), but ... I'm confused.

Don't look for it - maybe some real Labophot user will step in and will explain ... Now I cannot connect these pieces in my head.

Saul,

My Labophot carcass wasn't at all hard to find, and the part you're talking about is visible from the outside. Later, when I get a chance, I'll take a quick picture of it for you. I think that picture will show you the bit that is missing from your part. Whether or not that will help you connect those pieces, I don't know.

BTW, I briefly looked at some Labophot 2 carcasses, and it would appear that the bit that connects to the lamphouses is quite different from that of the Labophot. (Though I don't have any Labophot 2 lamphouses, either, so could be wrong.)

Saul, here is a view of the back of the Labophot carcass (the white cover is loose, and I've slightly lifted it here to better see the part in question. The portion that is broken on your part is facing the camera.

Does this help?

Also, while I imagine you could 3D print something to fix your part, I'd happily give you mine. This stand is junk, but it had a nice lens. After I harvested the lens, I kept the stand with the intention of repairing the broken focus block for practice. So nothing else in this stand has any value to me.

Yes!!! Thank you, Chris, very much! Your photo explains everything. Appears, “hooks” are missing on my piece.

I’m designing a universal LED/flash housing for my Nikon microscopes, Labophot was the last step (Optiphot & Metaphot versions are ready). Thank you very much for your generous offer, will keep in mind!

Have these been 3-D printed then?

If so, at what sort of cost?
regards, Mike.

Saul, I admire how you've worked around the Labophot's "broken wings." Your approach looks much more robust.

Hi Mike, yes, they are 3d printed, going to make a separate post after testing.
Cost ? Hmm, complex question, to many things are involved, please PM me.

Thanks Chris ! Looks like it will be a safe design :) - it is slide in version, but can be used in the " broken wings" situation also
