After a week of sub-zero temperatures culminating in -7C yesterday, a little bit of sunshine brought the temperature up to 8C today. Positively spring-like considering it's early Feb.
And out came the gnats too (including this unlucky one). Just a snap to see what sort of fly it was (inasmuch as a 200-image stack can be a snap). Tough little beggars! Do they hide away as flies, or (quickly) hatch out from pupae when it gets warmer?
