Beautiful. Quite beautiful. However, I would be very, very surprised were it Micrasterias muricata Bailey ex Ralfs 1848. From the paper ''Biogeography of Desmids'' by Peter Coesel (Hydrobiologia 2004) we have the following diagram, M. muricata being b.
Is it not M. rotata (Grev.) Ralfs? The ''north'' lateral lobe of the left semicell (not a correct designation, but 'right' and 'left' lateral lobes are meaningless in this orientation) has a slight deformity or variation.

On closer examination of Plate XXXVII in "Desmids of the United States"
(Francis Wolle, 1892)' it appears my specimen is M. rotata.
