Olympus CH2 replacement focus gear
Does anyone know if replacement focus gears are available for the CH2 anywhere? I think this is part number ZJ808700
I have had a look around but haven't come across anything yet.

I double checked the count, and it is 12 and 45. Here is the eBay item number:
183254141397
If you check the listing, one of the pictures has a red mark at 12:00, which is the 45 gear. There are smaller marks (counting clockwise) every 5 teeth.
Please double check your gear. If it looks to be a match, shoot me an offer of $15 for it, and I'll accept it. If it doesn't work for you, I do accept returns.

In future, if I wanted to get some of these made (i.e. to keep a fleet of CH2's on the road) - does anyone know the best method and approximate cost?
Is 3D printing up to this job? Or is it more a job for a traditional engineering company?
This particular part has to be very strong (there is a lot of pressure on it and these teeth seem to be the weak point, leading to a slipping focus and rendering the microscopes useless - otherwise they should last another 20+ years).

I looked into making gears for the BH-2. The killer here is they are .45 module gears and nobody makes them. So, to get the ball rolling, they have to buy in a custom tool to cut .45 mod gears. This makes it expensive. I think the CH-2 uses the same module.
There is a seller on eBay, who also has his own site, that makes custom gears, including some for the BH-2. I can provide a link if you're interested.

This guy sells BH-2 gears on eBay from time to time. I've never dealt with him, so keep that in mind.
I'll check with a few buddies to see if I can come up with anymore 12/45 gears. If so, I'll PM you.
