Identification of water bug?

Post by TravisH »

Hi All,

I am hoping someone might be able to help me with an ID, this came from a 1940's pathology slide collection but the writing on the slide is illegible so I could not work out exactly what it was.

Appears like it came from rockpools but that is about the extent of what i know of this one :(.

Image

Just FYI, this was captured using the Amscope 18mp camera connected to the microscope.

Many Thanks!

Great white kangaroo larva. Look at the back legs! I'm real good at bugs, me. :D

Marine guide may give pointers here . (I was amused to see there is an opossum shrimp.)

Thanks Chris,

So much to learn around the naming of the various parts, I had thought Gammarus but that was without using the wizard. Time for some brushing up since Still getting used to the taxonomic keys, I understand bacteria far more)(not that you can really do an I'd on bacteria visually).
