Interesting. You can sort of see the contribution of the different components; picric acid: needles, alanine: plates, and red staining from the fuschin. Looks like you may be over exposing a bit. The highlights are quite blown out.

Thanks Cactusdave. I agree about the overexposure on part of the image.
Large dynamic range across image. I may see if the subject is still intact and see what I can do.
Always difficult to tell exactly what crystals are doing what. Especially in a mixture. Certainly the red is the acid fuschin. The alanine had been giving needles in some other slides and I've never used picric acid by itself (not too surprising there...) only in low conc in premade van Geison's stain I have. van Geison's stain has proved to be interesting, I've mixed it to good effect with citric acid and used it by itself.
