Copepod, Amoeba and Algae

Post by hkv »

Here are some images from old photo sessions this summer/fall. The last one (Arcella) was a real pain and is hand-stacked. It was impossible to get Zerene or Helicon to do a decent job, so I hand stacked it from 14 images and manually selected the focus areas using the Zerene retouching module.

Copepod eggs. 20X, Pol:

Copepod eggs. 40X, Pol. Once again, this was a difficult shot as the 40X has so little depth of field and working distance. Smashed into the eggs with the objective all the time... The 40X is really not designed for this kind of subject:

Green Algae. Kind of liked the smooth bend and decided to take a shot. 40X, DIC:

Amoeba - Arcella. 60X Water Immersion, DIC. Interesting to see him sticking out in a few places. Hand stacked from 14 images:
