Nice! The first pic looks like a late 60's psychedelic poster.

Ascorbic Acid

Post by Olympusman »

Thanks. As I have said before, I'm finding I get different crystal structures depending on how the drops on the slide are dried. For this set, I initially force dried the drops on a glass plate over a gravy warmer. After they cooled, I put additional drops on those crystals and let them evaporate overnight at room temperature.
One thing about Ascorbic Acid, every set of drops is like Christmas morning.

Remarkable result? I don't remember seeing any quite like those. Are there any standard theories explaining how the concentric circles come about?

Maybe fractal geometry.
