I finally got all of my gear:

  • Amscope 4x finite objective
  • EOS to M42 adapter
  • RMS to EOS adapter
  • two sets of M42 extension tubes

The subject is a little worse for wear, but I'm extremely happy with the results.

I had to abort my initial stack since it was completely washed out. Using a Minolta 50mm manual reversed onto two sets of extension tubes steals so much light that I have to set my manual flashes to 1/32 power. With the objective I can back that off to 1/128th power, and can probably move the flashes farther away. I didn't bother with diffusion for this first shot.

I really like this Amscope objective.
