Erecting prism, or something, for compound microscopes?

Post by Beatsy »

Is there any way to get the image at the eyepieces of a compound microscope the right way round, like on a stereo (not mirrored and inverted)? I'm 99.99% certain the answer is "no", but perhaps I'm wrong...

Yes, but you have to buy a special right-way-round head, and they are big, heavy and expensive.

Klaus Kemp used to use one, an Olympus BH2-TBI Tilting Binocular Tube, on his Lomo.

This was the Reading Convention in 2013.

I have one too, but I hardly ever use it. I think I am so used to the normal way of doing things, it feels odd when the image is not reversed.

Thanks Alan. I'm looking for a way to improve my diatom arranging setup as it evolves. Klaus clearly uses that bino head for diatom arranging too - so a very appropriate response! Something to put on my Ebay alert list, at least. Thanks again.
