Yes, it will be some kind of sphinx moth. Not a tomato or tobacco hornworm, but similar. The single sharp horn-like tail on a hairless caterpillar is diagnostic.

Agree with Rik. The same horn-like tail as on my caterpillar Hyles euphorbiae euphorbiae.
The meaning of beauty is in sharing with others.

Pretty neat critter here Sue. I like the skin texture and markings, sort of reminds me of myself. Liverspots and all wrinkled up I guess :-k

This was found on a tobacco plant. My Amish neighbor donated this to me. They know I like to take photos "of these things"..
