Bon Jour Olivier,
Another nice photo- Merci!
The name Biddulphia aurita is no longer valid. The "new " name is Odontella aurita ( name is from 1832!).
if you are interested in marine micro-algae, a great guide book with lots of photos - in French - is:
Guide d'identification du phytoplancton marin de l'estuaire et du golfe du saint-laurent.
Authors: Lyse Berard-Thierriault, Michel Poulin et Luci Bosse
Published CNRC, Ottawa 1999
ISBN 0-660-96057-5
It is relatively inexpensive - I think that I ordered it directly from the CNRC website.
OK it relates to Canadian waters, but most algae are widely distributed.
Bon chance
Au revoir
Brian
