partially formed snail shell?

I'm wondering what I found in my fish tank last night. This is with a 4x objective, so pretty big (not sure of the actual size, sorry).

It is transparent/translucent and seems like the beginnings of a snail shell that was abandoned. I could also be wildly off base!

Any ideas?
