Polyphemus Moth eggs

Post by Pizzazz »

Gang

Helping a friend move some items to a storage facility, the facility
manager spotted this guy. I just HAD to have it. I collected the specimen
and the GOOD devil on my shoulder was saying NOT to destroy it, while
the BAD devil was saying “Hey; it’s for science!”.

As I noticed the moth was producing some unique droppings, I decide to
consult GOOGLE.

Much to my chagrin, I found out the “droppings” were in fact eggs!

I immediately let her go, and collected the eggs. I just did not have the
heart to destroy such a beautiful creature just to get some awesome
photos.

The wingspan on this moth was about 5 inches!

I have included a photo of her while she was staying at the "Moth Hotel".

Notice the "scales" on the egg on the lower-left.

Nice pics, those eggs like a scene from Aliens!
Time for some tiny egg omelets!

They look like stuffed pastry that were dropped on the floor. And someone didn't adhere to the 5 second rule
I'm in Canada! Isn't that weird?
