Hello everyone.
I am not sure why this amoeba took on this form, maybe it was stressed? It already had the first stages of this shape just after I put it on the slide and it then just extended more and more. The rest of the specimens on the slide seemed fine.

Very nice picture!
I don't know very much about amoebae, and I hope Ferry and Ecki will comment. In the meantime, I don't think this is aberrant behaviour, or a sign of stress, but the normal shape of a "reticulate" amoeba, such as a variosean or leptomyxid. See, for instance: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/276074574_Expansion_of_the_'Reticulosphere'_Diversity_of_Novel_Branching_and_Network-forming_Amoebae_Helps_to_Define_Variosea_Amoebozoa

It Came from the Pond (Blog): http://www.itcamefromthepond.com/
This could well be a variosean amoeba as pointed out by Bruce, although there are more species out there with this kind of plasma network.
With reticulate amoebae, especially the varioseans, it is next to impossible to make a correct identification without molecular data. These forms are very common but you need to grow samples in Petri dishes or wet mounts to see them.
