Beautifully lit; the golden hair structures are complementary to the monochromatic feel of the overall image. Nice work!

I've had a look at that amazing set up on Flickr.

I was just wondering, is there any where we can find the parts to complete the setup?

I'm using a Canon 600D.

I know where to source a Raynox DCR150, but those extension tubes and iris part seem hard to find.

On ebay?

Both B&H and Adorama offer inexpensive extension tubes; different brand names, but appear to be identical.

Some of the parts my friend made himself. The best source for others is Ebay.

BTW at the beginning there is no need to buy the "m42 IRIS" adapter :)

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I've seen some on eBay too, some of them are of different types, but I could find the ones I needed.

Another thing that might be interesting is a polarizer.

Has anyone had any luck with using an M42 polarizer (one that can rotate) along with polarized light for viewing and photographing crystals and other birefringent materials?

Yes. There is a tremendous amount of useful information on this site. Try the search feature for polarize, polarization, etc. and you'll find enough reading for a full day!
