Epic eyebrows...

Post by Aussie Phil »

...on a Tasmanian huntsman my wife discovered on the wheelie bin, while taking out the trash. Normally an arachnophobe, she is warming up to them now she gets to see macro shots of them.

Note the ant body parts; not sure if the spider was responsible or just picked up some bits while on the move.

Taken with the Micro Nikkor f2.8 55mm. No stacking, just one shot with diffuse flash at night time.

I would say that it looks rather distinguished. Myself being an arachnophobe, I found that taking macro images of spiders to be somewhat theraputic. Nomally running with arm and hands waving in the air over the tiniest of spiders, I now find myself enjoying the company of at least one species, the Jumping spider. A welcome guest in my home, entertaining, and jumpers kill and eat other spiders...good for them and me. :D

I have been looking at this lens. I can see why it has a reputation for being tack sharp. Very good picture too!
