A potter wasp - sadly I couldn't quite reach it, so not as good as it could be. Also I don't know very much about what is dangerous there and what is not

I would be dazzled by time in the tropics, as it is chock full of vibrant, competitive, and at times combative life. But a bee or wasp that is out foraging from its nest is almost always pretty mellow, and do not react aggressively to being disturbed by a photographer.
