Stacks of Beetles and a Wasp

Post by C.Seno »

Hello everyone,
I haven't been here in a while. It seems like every month is going by faster and faster! I think I spend more time working in Zerene than I do sleeping  Took a break right now to post some stacks.
All stacks are of rehydrated and posed specimens.

Emerald Cockroach Wasp (Ampulex hospes cognata) -16mm
The emerald cockroach wasp enslaves cockroaches by injecting its venom into a certain part of the brain, the protocerebrum, which controls the ability to start walking. The newly made zombie will become host for the wasp's larvae. The larvae will live in and eat the insides of the roach until it emerges as an adult.
